World 21 Foundation becomes real after 10 years of negotiations on a beginning idea and a new application about new information technologies. Foundation carries out communication for human development, too. October 2004, the legal structure of non lucrative foundation, which supports our project, is established. Education, access to information, raising awareness, knowledge exchange for grinding poverty and generating social or cultural development are some of basic thematic lines of action.
Today it is possible to take information, knowledge and non-tangible values for development, education, cooperation and culture to any corner of the planet. These matters focus on interaction, exchange, personal-, social- and cultural identity.
To sum up, World 21 is a global network for education and knowledge and is working in the fields of communication and information, production of audiovisual products, radio, TV, press or management of cultural events, which are related to Non-Lucrative Sector.
World 21 is created by an experienced working party in the fields of information, television, radio and communication, telecommunication experts, development workers and economic analysts, in order that any place of the planet with learning difficulties can access to knowledge and information, such as access to drinking water, education, public health or cultural and ethnic identity.
In these places, a social and cultural development must be generated from information and knowledge exchange. In this way, we contribute to the creation of a fairer world World 21 is a technological application for disseminating information at the service of human development.
World 21 network will allow many functions, including accessing to audiovisual contents about education, telemedicine, videoconference between educational institutions, follow up and organization of micro-credits, sending and receiving music, audiovisual products, oral narrations, cultural products, ground analysis for a competitive crop harvest, intermunicipal cooperation, follow up of foster parents, long-distance degrees at universities, social and labour integration for disabled people, environmental programmes, etc. That is, the whole interactive application based on communication for development.
